Description
In the early 2010s, Planetshakers, which is described as a church and ministry for all, was redeveloping an old warehouse site into a modern multi-purpose office and conference venue. During the planning and construction process, they soon discovered that the grid alone could not meet their total power requirements.
This is when we came in with a solution to complement their grid connection with Capstone microturbines fuelled by Natural Gas. We leased five C65 microturbines to Planetshakers, with a cogeneration configuration that allowed them to recover waste heat from the microturbines. This waste heat was used for various purposes, such as domestic hot water and space heating. Plantshakers also purchased a Factory Protection Plan (FPP) for the microturbines, which allowed them to maximise the returns from the installed cogeneration equipment, extend the life of the equipment and easily predict ongoing operating costs.
Hence, with Optimal Group’s reliable, efficient, and timely solution, Planetshakers were able to complete construction and open their Southbank venue to members and the public.
