Optimal can provide a BESS system as part of a microgrid or SPS design, which can provide multiple services, including providing a “grid” reference for other systems to connect and parallel to, as well as energy shifting – for example, storing excess solar generated during the day to overnight periods. Different battery chemistries are selected to best fit each application, determined during the design phase.
Optimal has relationships with various power conversion equipment and battery suppliers, which allows us to customise and develop solutions specific to customer requirements. These requirements can be diverse and include spinning reserve, energy shifting and system stabilisation.
We can customise hybrid energy systems to manage energy sources from thermal generators, PV, battery and/or capacitor energy storage and hydrogen fuel cells. Optimal Group has an in-house developed control system based around Beckhoff PLC hardware.
