Description

Optimal Group Australia supported Deakin University’s Hycel Technology Hub (now known as Deakin Hydrogen Hub) to bring a 5 kW hydrogen fuel cell system from delivery through to commissioning readiness and stakeholder alignment, enabling the hub to showcase hydrogen power generation as part of its “demonstrate to demystify” approach to hydrogen technology adoption.

The installation formed part of the Hycel facility’s public-facing demonstration capability, including onsite display at the hub opening, and later progressed toward commissioning after external grid-connection requirements were resolved.

Deakin University’s Hycel Technology Hub is described by the hub’s Program Manager as being strategically situated in Warrnambool, positioned to support large-scale hydrogen technology testing and to connect industry, communities, and resources.

Within this environment, the fuel cell system was intended to be a practical, visible asset that supports demonstration, education, and industry engagement, helping to make hydrogen technology tangible for visitors and partners.
